The Forum will provide an opportunity to present the outcomes of implementation of the Global Tiger Recovery Programme adopted in 2010 and outline further goals and concrete actions to ensure the conservation of a sustainable global tiger population.

The Forum’s objectives include consolidating tools to facilitate the regular exchange of information and effective international coordination of actions, outlining new guidelines, and launching new measures to promote cooperation.

The Forum will take place on 5 September 2022 on ‘day zero’ of the Eastern Economic Forum and is set to be attended by global leaders representing the tiger range countries.

The Forum will bring together heads of state, representatives of relevant government ministries and agencies, academics, and international experts on the protection of endangered species.

Presidential decree

Decree No. 412 of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, dated 3 September 2019: On holding the International Tiger Forum.

In order to build collaborative efforts with foreign partners on protecting and restoring the tiger population, I hereby decree the following:

  1. The International Tiger Forum shall be held in 2022 in Vladivostok.

  2. An organizing committee for the International Tiger Forum shall be put together.

  3. The attached regulations on the International Tiger Forum organizing committee shall be approved.

  4. Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuychenko shall be appointed chairman of the International Tiger Forum organizing committee.

  5. The chairman of the International Tiger Forum organizing committee shall confirm members of the organizing committee within a period of one month.

  6. The Government of the Russian Federation shall fund expenditures related to the organization of the International Tiger Forum.

  7. This Decree shall enter into force as of the time it is signed.
